RIDING AND HORSEMANSHIP LESSONS

Would you like to learn how to safely and efficiently mount/dismount, maneuver, and handle your horse in controlled and emergency situations? How about honing your skills before that next big event? If so, riding and horsemanship lessons are for you.
Riding and horsemanship lessons help you learn how to achieve better control of the four different zones of the horse (head/neck, shoulders, ribs, and hindquarters), achieve softness throughout the horse's whole body, and develop a better feel and relationship with your equine companion.

Each lesson is personalized for you and your horses specific needs.
Popular riding and horsemanship lesson topics include, but are not limited to;

* How to ride and control a horse that is spooking, rearing, bucking, or bolting

* How to use your aids (eyes, seat, hands and legs) to speed your horse up, slow your horse down and turn your horse right and left

* How to catch, tack, and untack your horse

* How to overcome difficult situations such as separating your horse from the herd during a trail ride

* How to use your aids to gait a gaited horse, and other gaits including "creeping" and cantering

* How to get your horse soft and concentrated on you

* How to be safe!

Why include horsemanship in riding lessons? Because having the knowledge about your horse's natural instincts, and using this knowledge to build a stronger relationship through various ground-work and under-saddle exercises will immensely improve your overall riding experience and improve safety for both you and your horse.

Fundamental riding and horsemanship skills will improve your riding ability in any style or discipline of riding (english, western, or otherwise). While I offer riding and horsemanship lessons to any level rider in any discipline, I also specifically specialize in riding and horsemanship lessons for the following disciplines; western reining, working cow horse, cutting, trail and pleasure riding, field trial, gaited horses, and natural horsemanship.

Why should you choose Beals Horsemanship as your instructor? Because I am patient, understanding, safety-concious, and able to give a critical eye for fast improvements.

HORSE TRAINING

To further help you and your horse reach your goals, you can also take advantage of on-site, off-site or convenient board-away training. By hiring a trainer you can avoid making mistakes during critical training periods, buff out behavior or training problems without risking injury to yourself, as well as finishing your horses training faster.

Training is personalized for you and your horses needs, and may include, but is not limited to;

* Standing still for mounting and dismounting, including parking out

* Tying, Ground tying, and hobbling

* Trailer loading and unloading

* Flagging out with sacks and ropes

* Calming a hot or spooky horse

* Perking up a dull horse

* Gaiting and gait control

* Stopping runaway horses

* Rearing horses, or horses that do not accept the bit

* Barn sour, buddy sour, or other "problem horses"

I also specialize in colt starting, re-starting horses, western reining, working cow horse, cutting, trail riding, gaited horses, and field trial training.

Owners are encouraged to watch horse training sessions, as I will explain what I am doing and why I am doing it. By observing or even participating during the training, you will have a better opportunity of being able to solve and prevent problems yourself.

If your situation allows for it, we can combine Horse Training with Riding and Horsemanship Lessons for clients who want to learn how to train their own horse.
